Reporting a moderators post

I did just that yesterday
I didn't really expect it to be excepted being about a moderators post well posts actually and it was just as much my advice on what would be the best way to deal with a situation as it was a complaint and I know that my advice in this instance is most likely only worth what was paid for it but it would have been nice if the reply I got was not from the moderator whose post I made the report about, from this I can only presume that it was that moderator that dealt with it,
is this the norm when a report is made about a moderators post that the moderator in question deals with it ?

I missed this post before
yes I know I got a reply from you that was just my point I wouldn't have expected to get a reply from you when you consider who's post it was I reported
You talk in riddles. You may not have liked the reply but you got one. You reported my comments to Old MacDonald on a thread he had commented on. You don't actually speak for him.

Either of you can call me at anytime

I didn't say I speak for him and I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing
I didn't think it was only a post directed at me that I was allowed to report ?
I am not going to ring you JP its really not that important
but the one question I will ask you though is do you think that moderators should deal with reports made about their own posts yes or no ?

Yes I don't see a problem at all. You can always PM the owners of TFF or any of the mod team if you wish. I have nothing to hide or worry about. I try to treat everyone equally and fairly. I don't think you're being very fair in handling this. A decision was made to delete another thread. An ensuing thread posing the question as to why the original thread was commented on by me. You had a reply to your report.

If you're not going to engage properly, I have to wonder what the motivation was to bother to create a thread at all.

OK that all I wanted to know(y), we know where we stand now @Danllan was correct
As always - I wish! Back in the real world... in my second post I wrote '...Natural justice requires independent jurists but, other than a referral to another mod' (on the same team), the options for this are limited on TFF...'

This is an obvious truth but, on the assumption that even a thin veil of credibility is better than none, it would make sense to have a third party arbitrate when there is a disagreement between a member and a mod', even though needs must that the 'third party' be from in-house.

Of course, another - cheap, maybe even free! - option might be to request the adjudicatory services of an intelligent and independently minded member, who respects both the OP and the mod'. Good luck finding one... :)

It's a free resource with a team of volunteer moderators. You are not in a court of law.

Peer pressure works well on here most of the time. There's just a few that want to labour things

We had another (unrelated) instance this last week which ran to a PM with many many links with two TFFers (not mods) basically calling troll on each other and neither behaving responsibly by just ignoring

As with all things in life, sometimes decisions happen and just because you report something, doesn't mean any mod will judge that the report is valid.

I've left this open as a thread just to prove there is no agenda. At least this place is moderated otherwise it could become chaos on occasions

I really, really am not interested in kicking the ars* out of this one, having no axe to grind either way, but '...sometimes decisions happen...' is a truly awful cop-out.

Yes, TFF works well most of the time, for the vast majority of it in fact, and mod's do a good job to the same degree. Nonetheless... natural justice, common sense, fairness or call it what you will, is something we expect and value in our everyday lives, not just in a Court of Law and there would be chaos without it... bringing in a third party is behaving responsibly. fair enough except I would hope you left this thread open because simply there is no reason to lock it
