Retrofitting isobus to a seed drill

Is it possible and if so is it costly. Would like to convert drill to fully isobus then do variable seed plans. Do not want to up grade drill at present as want to try a few things before jumping in with both feet. Therefore was thinking along these lines if not too expensive.

Drill is a kuhn megant with the older type control box, want to try a bit of variable rate seed. As I understand this is not possible with a land wheel driven drill.

The control box is the old type, the size of a fag packet and also land wheel driven. I understand an electric drive will be needed but can all the other sensors stay the same and then be con trolled by the x30.

If it got the MDC box like on the picture it should be able to do vr, you just need a cabel from your gps system to the box. Or that what's the manual says haven't tried it. 1423659388904.jpg

Is it possible to get isobus and or vr seeding on a horsch pronto with the 'two box' controller? Its the one before the muller.

SOME Agtron systems can be modified with a GPS interface module, some others won't accept it, and Agtron apparently don't know why.
Speak to either Horsch UK or SOYL, as both have access to the GPS module. SOYL supplied ours and helped with setup (baud rate, language etc) and its connected to an RDS box borrowed from my sprayer as a rate controller and using a Trimble 750 for position. Not Isobus, but then again I didn't need it.

For retrofit to another drill I still have an RDS Artemis system for sale. Horsch CO (above) meant I didn't need to use it in the end.

What PSQ says is spot on. What would be required would be a GR99 & power module. The software on the agtron box must be V24 (seen when you turn the computer on)
Best speaking to either HORSCH, DK electronics or the hardware support team @ SOYL

Dickey John have a system that can be retrofitted to an implement to allow rate control and is also ISOBUS compatible.
I'm not sure how compatible their kit would be with your implement but they are generally quite universal kits.
