No my neighbours are worse!!

Thy both have given up on the fields they cut for hay two weeks ago and have turned cattle into them instead! ( and one block was really lush new ley grass )

Seen worse this year round the country this year. It's now just a case of getting it off the field to save the sward underneath it. Either chop it or bale it and dump it in the midden to rot down, at a push you could use it for bedding but not going to do your or you're animals' lungs any good.

It really has been a f**king awful year.

Even here in sunny Essex, I have made 200 acres or so of hay, none rain-free. Thankfully none as bad as the last 14 acres (see above) but that was heading for a boiler anyway due to thistle inclusion.

I thought the thread might cheer others up a bit - schadenfreude @jemski perhaps?

How are you finding the 'baskets' on the Tedder? Saw them at livestock expo wondered if they could be made to fit other makes
I am not sure about other makes, you have to move each tine when you change from ted to row-up, takes about 3 minutes.

i have had one of these for 20 years (this is the second) and am quite happy with it, doesn't make that bad a job as you see especially bearing in mind the 'hay' hadn't been moved for 6 days and was a bit stuck down and damp

Depends what you want it for, son has about 5 acres cut for small bale haylage & hay another 8 that will be got as dry as possible then used for bedding. All stuff that got away from the sheep.

Remember seeing a field of wheat or barley at Perth that didn't get harvested until xmas in 2012 don't think they ever got the straw.

Just back from wrapping at Dalbeattie then dropping the wrapper at the next place on the to do list on the way home, as I unhitched the wrapper it started chucking it down :(.

Feel really sorry for folk whose winter keep is getting ruined and there's not a bloody thing anyone can do about it this year:mad:
