Security marking trailers

Does anyone bother security marking their livestock trailers etc?
I got a new Ifor Williams trailer last year. To make it a little less desirable to thieves I stencilled the farm name and postcode on the front in foot high letters.
My thinking is that Ifor Williams trailers are fairly valuable and common/anonomous so thieves are unlikely to be caught if they get away from the farm (police are unlikely to want to stop all livestock trailers on the A1 just to look for one stolen one). Making it unique and easily distinguishable will, I assume, make a thief think twice about nicking it as they may get caught more easily, and would also make it harder to sell on.
Of course it also makes it harder if I want to sell it on - fortunately we tend to keep equipment for a long time.

postcode on top of trailer in big letters?

extra brackets for useful stuff bolted on make it more unique.
Obviously the guard cats are not for hire! ;)

I look after the 2 local scout trailers. I got hold of a load of different scouting related stickers and plastered them all over. Then I took photos from all the different directions as evidence.

I've thought about postcoding the roof in the past but decided against it. It doesn't act as a deterrent unless the thief climbs up and looks at the roof and I find it kind of unlikely that a police helicopter will be scrambled to search for a trailer that's being spirited away unless its whereabouts are roughly known.
The way I did it hopefully a thief will decide against nicking it in the first place, and if it does get stolen a cop car in a layby could easily id it.

Ifor W do the TER security registration for you at purchase.

..... which is really valuable because if in the event of your recovering your stolen trailer from someone who claims they have bought the trailer in "good faith" you will get your trailer back because the new "owners" did not exercise due diligence in contacting TER to verify that the trailer was totally legit. Stolen TER trailers are deffo more problematic to move on so therefore are less likely to be stolen in the first place.

I bought a new iforWilliams 14' stock box 14 months ago and I would be very supprised if anyone stole it! It is a terrible trailer and is nearly a right off!

Your animals must be very gentle if you can get them to last any longer than two years.
