Sheep handling w/ pallets

Got a boat load of wooden pallets, all sizes. Planning on making a handling area for sheep, routine tasks, grading etc. Could easily just make a box shape with couple gates in it, but has anyone any better ideas or experience of making similar?

Unless they are all the same size and type it might end up looking a mess. I have thought about a similar idea on outlying land so the pykeys wont nick it. Been collecting the longer pallets for a while. Idea is to erect it then creosote it and fasten some tin sheets on the inside of the race

Wouldn't it be better to dismantle the pallets and get a better finish? Use posts and timber from the pallets?

Lol know what you mean mate, all too easy for things to get scruffy.

Have the inside slats vertical to prevent legs getting trapped, string fixing is fine as long as you tie the outer bits of each pallet not the inner.

In no time at all it will look very rustic.

Obviously a friend with a much scruffier farm told me the above.

Don't do it. My FIL has several sheep races made with pallets and they're the work of the devil. I'm just pining for a proper race
