Sheep with bad eyes

got a few lambs with bad eyes just this last fortnight they go a dull bluey grey colour then later on change to a spot in the middle and go totally blind have been jabbing in the upper eyelid with betamox as that is what I had about does any body know what it is and any miracle cures it's mainly in the one bunch and seems pretty contagious keeping them separate from the rest we have had a bit of it before but clears up pretty quick this time it's lingering about needs nipping in the bud asap

Sounds like pink eye.

Pink eye?

It can transmit from your clothing, so watch out for that.

My vet suggests Alamycin LA (not in the eyelid though) and a shot of Metacam to reduce the irritation. A quick squirt with Oxytetracline spray seems to be just as effective though.

I'd agree with that had it in ewes a couple years ago when we had a wet winter. Also wipe the faces with baby wipes, sounds daft but it reduces the spread of infection.
