Also younger doctors who sign the certification are more and more against it and will not sign ,an older practice Doctor was telling me so time numbered?

The story used to be that the doctors weren’t obliged to approve the health of an applicant and started charging the applicant for doing so. Thing is that the applicant shouldn’t have to pay so some did because they were running scared and some didn’t.
Not sure of the score now but my gp wouldn’t send a bill but I’m sure he would respond to the police if my file had something negative on it. If I needed the gp to do a report as regards previous mental help for example I would happily pay but is paying for a report to get your licence back a sensible approach as regards possible dodginess?

I've never like the fact that GPs said they weren't doing it because they weren't trained psychiatrists then all of a sudden they decided they would do it if the price was right

That is a wrong. Anyone with sense would realise that a lot of people need firearms as part of their vocation. Being that bit older and wiser I would know why people are needing a gun license.

I think no response from the GP was taken as tacit approval not sure what the score is lately though
