Snowing again

Up here in central scotland it is snowing again this morning, snow not melted much either, l can see his being another 2013 if things don't take up soon, when it's Jan February you don't worry about the weather but it's March now and things are looking Grimm. I can see silage&straw getn dearer again, folk begining to run very short already.

Soon be mid March and not a blade of grass here and we’re luckier than most, can’t see turn out before mid April if things warm up. BBC says that’s not going to happen for at least 10 days, jet stream’s gone south apparently

I agree, I think today's fall will really put the tin lid on it for a lot of folk. Was at Lanark show and sale of store cattle today. Almost no buzz at all , plenty of buyers but not biting. Trade definitely took a step back. Buying cattle just now for the grass could feasibly have 6-8 weeks inside keep to add to them

Conditions can change very quick once the temperatures pick up, couple of days warm sunshine and that warm ground smell and it will be turn out before you no it.

Yes finally stopped, melting a bit but will need an ark soon. Speaking to a guy today who thinks it will be the end of May before he gets cattle out, that's along time .

Absolutely flying trade at UA yesterday Bob for the stores. I left about 2 and cattle were flying through at a great trade.

Good show of quality stores though, cattle like that will always sell. Lots of snow on the hills around the town. Let's hope that the next month brings a lift in the weather.
