Source of copper

Thinking of treating a few more acres with a liquid copper fert in my spray but what is the most economic way of doing this? Have used yara coptrel on odd bits in the past but this can't be cheapest. I can't help thinking that Copper Sulphate in an IBC would be cheapest but I very much doubt that is legal (though I thought they used to use this under a derogation in organic systems:rolleyes:) so what is best? @static you use a lot of copper don't you but is it part of a bigger mix? TIA

I use Yara Mancuflo in spring barley. I don't bother in winter crops as I assume the roots are better developed so can get it out of the ground.

That said, I haven't done any tissue testing so I could be wrong!

No tissue testing here either. Spring barley main target but soil tests say levels are low..........

Mancuflo about £5.45/litre. It's a pain to get out of the can & takes a couple of minutes per can to rinse them but I haven't had many blocked nozzles from using it.

It does settle out, hence why I have never looked at buying a managanese/copper mix in an IBC. I can't help with any info on copper sulphate I'm afraid.

Copper oxychloride? I used to use it as a fungicide in beans http://www.headland-ag.co.uk/product-viewer.asp?pid=27

Have previously used Yara Coptrel which is gloopy and gets in the filters especially in mixes with CTL. I dont like it.
Headland do a copper oxychoride.
Last year I used a Nutrel chellated copper. It is not cheap per litre, but then I am only using a small quantity per hectare.
Normally I use a micronutrient mix powder with copper in it.
Havent used any copper sulphtate.

I have some of the chelated to use up, but am going back to buying my nutrient powder to include copper, which will go on at all T fungide timings.

I used this stuff

http://www.agspec.net/pdfs/labels/RapiSol 321 Label Web.pdf

It wasn't dear and with some flexi n it did an amazing job on wheat crop...

I will use again when situations require it...which is almost always as something is always going wrong!...to wet etc...not enough fert at seeding because of budget..grrr...

I used it with 15-20 litres of flexi N...because of the role the traces play in carrying nutrition around the plant I'm sure I got more bang for buck out of flexi n by itself...

As a ground spray we use bulk chelates over here..not expensive...take some mixing...like running sand through your sprayer though...it's a good job for a contractor!....I was dumb and sit it myself....

Ant..
