Swedes spoiling

We have got a rotting out issue in our swede crop. About 15% I would say have gone soft and rotted. On close inspection initial thoughts are either:
Slugs - certainly a high number but on there own boring holes would they cause the whole swede to go soft? Some sort of disease dead heart etc..
Insects - there does appear to be various millipede type insects in and around the plants.

Seriously concerned about my winter food anyone with similar experiences?

Boron deficiency?

Have you cut any open? Are they brown and rotting from the middle (I think that's the symptom)?

Had thought that but no seem to be going soft around the tops first then moving down. They had 2 foliar sprays of bortrac as well.

What variety? Tried Ruta tofty last year and they took really bad mildew around there rumps at Christmas, ate them off quick as the started to rot from the top down. Any club root? Any neeps with it will start to rot away about now.
