Take all in a DD system

I know using a claydon drill is not full DD but what are people's thoughts on getting take all using a DD system. The reason I ask is that I know some people think as the soil is not opened up and moved so take all doesn't spread and cause problems. Take all seed dressings are expensive but I am loathe to drop them as our second and third wheats get drilled early ( late Sept / early Oct) as we find on our clay soil we can't afford to wait.

I tried second wheat this time on light ground, because I read somewhere that long term low disturbance no-till suppresses take all. So far so good in a year that would definitely highlight any problems. SP dressing only, although no dressing was recommended.

Hi

From what I have heard is that the more freeer the soil the more likely it is to spread. Also tillage destroys the soil bacteria which can suppress the fungi

If your keen take all is supressed after 4 years where yields will start to increase again but you will have terrible yields in the preceding years
