Yes they have, new ones are terrible, riding on their name I’m afraid, the only upside to an ifor Williams is their terrific resale valueExcept the old and new of that age have not changed materially. I’ve been hearing the same old story for the last thirty years, yet they are still lasting intensive use.
Must say, I’ve never broken a leaf spring on an Ifor Williams trailer yet.
I got my name on the waiting list and got a Gamic with hydraulic decks, unbelievable trailer that will see me out and so much easier not buggering about folding up decks and running sheep up rampsYes they have, new ones are terrible, riding on their name I’m afraid, the only upside to an ifor Williams is their terrific resale value
80 pages and no ones bought one?Did anyone buy a ineos yet? If so how are they getting on with it?
Saab was form follows function though (real Saabs not GM cr@p)There’s a big lump in the footwell on rhs where exhaust is. Not one on passenger side so aimed at lhd market. Felt like was stooping to see out all the time, same like old defender. I like all the switches in the roof, quirky. I like quirky, used to have a Saab.
I had a pal at school whose dad had a black 900 turboSaab was form follows function though (real Saabs not GM cr@p)
Key near handbrake and more than 50% braking efficiency on hand brake so rear seat passenger could take some control if needs be. Proper ergonomic seats , real headrestraints, windscreen wiper blades, heated windscreen washer nozzles the list goes on
He must like "tinkering"....He was saying the other day he was considering getting rid of it and buying an Alpha Romeo instead… I asked if he was feeling ok.
Very much so, he also has a high maintenance wife. I think he uses the high maintenance cars as an excuse to stay late at work and tinker rather than go home and listen to the dozen near death experiences she’s no doubt negotiated that day.He must like "tinkering"....
Those true Saabs were great cars. I can remember father having a 96 two stroke and a lot of V4 96’s. Column change as well . Great rally carsSaab was form follows function though (real Saabs not GM cr@p)

It was that era wasn't it. Swede makers Volvo and Scania just supplanted the entire UK truck manufacturing industry by being better. Volvo cars in 1959 patented the inertia reel seat belt and then made it open access for the entire global car making industry to adopt - how many lives has that saved over the years .....,Those true Saabs were great cars. Sorry going off topic
I see the odd private advert for ‘fully loaded’ Grenadiers c£40k + vat
The most recent had a lame/strange excuse of;
“Can’t afford the Northern European running costs MPG wise”
This meant nothing to me as I assume a powerful BMW six-pot diesel would return 30(ish) MPG regularly be it on local or longer runs.
I couldn’t work out whether this was a LHD or RHD motor and haven’t a clue if this is even offered yet.
Re Saab;
I had a lovely, fast, and now very rare 99 Turbo and if I remember correctly I had to pop it into reverse to get the keys out of their slot which was down on the floor.
I’m still hoping for a days thrash in a Grenadier and have already set the route out in my head

I have no idea.How are they still being sold plus VAT second hand?
£44k inc VAT is still a big chunk of depreciation from the likely £65k new price at the time. Quite a few ‘consumers’ seem to have ordered and taken delivery of petrol versions and not appreciated the cost of running a vehicle that probably only does better than15mpg on a good day with a following wind.I have no idea.
If I could find the link I would post it but that is what was written. Likely a try-on
