Topcon AGI-4 NTRIP

Evening all, currently running the above receiver on a 3 network SIM card, for RTK correction, but it’s not great, compared with radio base station, the correction via NTRIP seems very unstable, with the HDOP figure fluctuating around erratically all day and at times rendering the auto steer useless due to constant large crosstrack error changes, but on one occasion it worked faultlessly for at least 6 hours solid with no issues.
Would this behaviour be due to patchy mobile signal or is this a common trait of running “cellular data based” RTK with AGI-4?? We do run John Deere MRTK via a variety of different SIM card providers, and they do not behave in the way the Topcon is at the moment, I am well aware the the John Deere system does go in to “RTK-X” and if signal is not acquired will fall back to SF2, where as Topcon has no fall back at all.
Any help most helpful, and comments appreciated.

Which "screen" do you have? You should find a diagnosis page that shows the cellular connectivity performance, you should see the time from the previous NTRIP message (you should get at least one message every second).

If the JD system runs well, you could check that the AGI-4 has the SIM card from the same network.

Yes as Northern Farmer says, try using it with another plain jane ordinary single network SIM card.

It’s a bit painful swapping SIM cards in an AGI-4, so just go with the network that provides the strongest network in your area. Sometimes network roaming SIMs can be a bit of a pain in the arse if they flip flop between networks if you’re in a fringe coverage area or have difficult topography (maybe your near the wealds).

Make sure you’ve got a decent cellular antenna on the tractor too.

James, as said. Did Simon fit a new antenna when he put his sim in? Yours was a 440-460 radio tuned one , you need a 900mhz mobile tunes one. It’s like trying to weld with eyes closed! Also ensure he turned fallback off
