just getting to grips with our new trimble cfx 750 ...and struggling with getting the headland bout right ...what we want to do is mark the outside boundary nby driving round the perimeter of the field then have the GPS give us a 12m line inside that to follow for the first time round the field (with a 24m fertspreader) to give the headland tramline ...at the moment it only gives the marked perimiter boundary as a tramline which isn't what we want ...must be missing something but can't seem to find any info about that in the manual ...any clues ?

I use a 500 but they must be fairly similar. If you go into a field which you have worked before you will already have the boundary saved, just select 'headland' and off you go if the widths are set right.
If you haven't been in the field before and you drive round the headland with the width set at 24m then it will assume you are driving around the headland tramline, and make the field 12m wider all around the edge, so your first tramline will be the field boundary. There might be a simpler way on the 750, but I would set the width to 2.5m, drive around the field and set the boundary. Then 'quit' the field, saving the boundary. Then reset your width to 24m and start a new job, and the headland tramline should be 12m in from the boundary.

Alternatively I seem to remember you can set the boundary to record to the edge of the working width (i.e. end of sprayer boom) or to use the line the gps reciever uses (i.e. middle of the tractor) as the boundary, could try this? You would have to straddle the boundary to be accurate though.

As I said, there might be better ways but might get you going........

What about machine set up you could extend the distance behind the antenna by the distance that you want it to turn on.
