Hi thinking of binning one of the old office pc`s and replacing with a laptop.
Which is a good one to go for, not looking for a top spec gaming machine, just a run of th emill office machine.

Cheers

I would sooner have a desktop for the farm software than a laptop. Find the desktop far more reliable than a laptop that is prone to more accidents.

NEVER EVER "Bin" a laptop of any desktop!! Ever!! i have bought no end of pc's and External HDD's of people over the last 15 years and they tell me they have been formatted and ive been able to get all their files back! one guy was an indian doctor i asked if the external HDD he sold me had been wiped he said yes i said on was he sure it has he said absolutely, i contacted him the next day as the software i use is military grade & gets deep down into the drives i was able to recover 98% of his files and i told him this but i also said IF he is looking for a new pc either sell the old one without the drives then destroy the drives physically or give the laptop/pc to a family member or someone he trusts, Regarding your laptop what budget have you got? an AMD cpu will do for you mate maybe an i5 4th gen?

Sorry to bring this back up again. Any reason you don't like Currys PC World?
No personal experience but I've heard that they install plenty of crapware onto their PCs and try to sell you loads of 'add ons' that you don't need, then if anything goes wrong their 'experts' aren't very good at fixing it.
Just what the 'man in the pub' tells me! :)

I almost purchased from Currys, but decided to go via the Saveonlaptops.com link above and found a similar spec with 12gb ram rather than 8gb which I thought was worth it for future proofing, and only cost £50 more. No SSD as machine prices were crazy, but can always add one DIY later if required.
