Start today on Brioni barly. Realy nice yield around 7ton /ha.
Tomorrow check if protein is ok? Makof Looks thinner but yields about the same?

You want low protein divided by 5 for grain nitrogen ?

Makof is a high DP variety used by the distillers to complement the low N varieties we generally grow here. Most of the imported malting barley is this type of stuff. Scotgrain were/are growing a bit up here but struggle to get quality some years.

@Acke quality is variable good low N levels, yields in general good but with some areas getting high skinning levels so rejections. However demand for barley is back a lot due to distillers retaining some of last years good harvest and shut downs for maintenance of distilleries i.e. slump in demand for whisky world-wide so distilleries taking a chance to stop production also because whisky has to mature for at least 3 years then there are issues with warehousing as well.
