Had a field fallow last autumn, I drilled in some vetch/SB, bit slow to get away in spring but then really motored. They foraged it last week, had 130t from 5ha, what would this be worth £/t, I do get some muck back in return I must add. Now have the decision as to leave it for some regrowth, mulch then incorporate for Spring wheat of turn it over ready for WW. Very impressed with the roots of the vetch, full of nodules and really gone down well in some heavy old clay tat. Hope to get some more drilled on land destined for Spring cropping as soon as we get the crops off.
