Is the application for a free TV license because of disability ? I had a reminder to pay mine , but I still haven't done , I don't think they'll send the bailiffs in just yet though . Hope not anyway . OH , sadly now gone , got registered as "partially sighted " and was listed as such . I was staggered at the way things came her way . We got a few visits from an official helper , who came with a copious "Goody bag" with all kind of items to help a partially sighted person , from different kinds of illuminated reading magnifying glasses , gadgets to tell you when you were about to overfill your brew mug , folding white stick - in fact just about anything you could conceivably need as an aid , just ask for it - free. And none of it returnable . The cost to the NHS for such things must be astronomical . I had a Knee replaced in a private hospital , NHS funded , and got a visit from another " advisor" with a list for delivery as long as your arm . A loo- lift with grab handles , a sort of "bum-stool" in case I couldn't bend down , 2 elbow crutches , and a chap to see about putting hand rails on both sides of the stairs . ALL of it non returnable when it was no longer needed .
