I have an HP Office Jet pro 6970 printer hard wired to my computer . (Works very well too ) Question -- Can I set it to accept a print job from my smart phone (S7 Android) without upsetting the hard wired working of it . ? TIA

Will probably work without doing anything to the printer, just put the phone in wifi hotspot mode. That's how I connect to an Epson wifi printer that's hardwired to computer.

My canon printer is hard wired to my computer, but works wirelessly round the rest of the house.
When I was using a BT hub it was a pain in the a**e but since using a separate Wi Fi hub has been as good as gold. We print from another computer an iPad and several phones with no issues at all.

Now, who believes in coincidences? I posted the query yesterday , and then went on to read the postings in beware of who reads these postings . Lo and behold , I had an e mail from HP today with full instructions on which, firmware / software to DL and install in order to do this ( other updates as well ) which I've just done ,100+ Mb ! I can't really believe that "Mr Hewlett Packard " scans all these messages, so it must be just coincidence . Anyway RTFM it is !!
