I enjoyed this one for the most part. A very good show situated in an affluent area of Garstang. The houses round where the show is held are huge which is nice to see when your waiting in the car. And we did wait a lot, it took about 30 minutes to get in, the roads around the field are not used to taking so much traffic. The Garstang show lands seems to be smaller than the other shows in the area yet there was just as many people, if not more, so you always felt cramped with little space...
Haven't been to Pickering Rally for about 5yrs, so was thinking of going this weekend. Heard today that the venue has changed to a park off the A1. Does anyone on here go most years ? Will it be as good or even better at the new venue ? Just that when some events move, it seems to upset the exhibitors, and the show suffers. I mainly go for the tractors to be honest, but do like the rest of the exhibits too. Any thoughts appreciated. (y)
I went to this last Saturday. I had mixed feeling about the show to be honest. The positives are that it's quite big, lots of people, lovely area, fantastic hills in the background add to the atmosphere. There's loads of young people (Which is important in my opinion), and there's quite a lot to see with animals, cars, tractor pulls, etc. But the one thing that pee'd me off was the fact we have to cross a busy A Road with cars going at 50mph to get to it, the car park is on the other side...

No fewer than six of the competitive categories have individual record entry figures for this year’s Great Yorkshire Show. In total 12,651 entries have been received for England’s premier agricultural event, which runs from Tuesday 14 – Thursday 16 July. The figure is just shy of last year’s all time high of 12,847. Sheep numbers are particularly impressive with 2,328 coming before the judges, smashing last year’s best of 2,292. With around 30 breeds represented, the sheep section is a...
