Well It's not the UK, they haven't in the past and I don't see then changing in the future.
What?
Your posts make zero sense.
Clearly countries that are teetering on the brink such as Italy, Spain, Portugal etc cannot afford to pay, so the Germans, French, U.K. And all other Nations with money will have to foot the bill. Do you honestly think the Germans would rather pay more?
It's also a fact that we pay more to Europe than we receive back (in direct money, not trade) so that money must go somewhere as it doesn't come back here.
By the way I am an in voter, I just hate all this political posturing.

We camped in the Black Forest once. Lovely camp site with loads of German camper vans. It was a brilliant site with first class facilities and the staff were lovely. We ended up finding some British bikers in another tent and it was nice to have a chat with Brits having been in Europe for a month or so. But the Germans were very friendly and we had a great time. Must have been over 200 tents and vans in the place. My morning was a bit disturbed and when I finally poked my head out of the tent at about 8am, the whole place was empty. Except for us and the bikers. 2 tents left in the whole place.

Basildon is only an assembly plant and we mostly only assemble foreign makes of cars
what on earth will BMW do about the Mini, they will have to pay export tariffs to export their own vehicles out of the UK, and worse, they will have to pay their own EU tax tariffs to ship the car components over to the UK to build them! How on Earth will they afford to do that? Oh yes, because all these threats are a total load of bollox

I continually wince when I read some of the xenophobic clap trap written on here.

Do posters ever consider that we actually have TFFers who are German and I'm sure read these threads?

Perhaps the more pertinent reason may be that they are just better than us in a number of ways; retaining their family companies, worker representation on Boards of major companies, excellent education, vocational training and apprenticeships, respect for technicians and those "on the tools", product design integrity, long term strategic investment, good and desirable high density urban accommodation that leaves the countryside to be that, strong environmental and green credentials; I could go on.

Now imagine those people who start early, have a strong work ethic but work smart had retained their Deutschmark, then they probably would be unstoppable.

The Germans probably make the best cars, best tractors and they compete with the best in other areas.

I was told last night when I was dropped off at my German hotel by a Dutchman that he goes with groups of friends to Germany for food and drink because it is cheaper.

Limburg is a central trading zone across the three Schengen countries of Belgium, Holland and Germany. It thrives because of many of the "common rules" they all choose to live by.

You can buy a good 3 bedroom well constructed house for €225-250,000 on a very low interest and guaranteed stable long term mortgage.

I think they will put the security of the euro zone as a whole way infront of uk exports. Cutting of there nose off to spite there face if you like.
