We are currently Massey Ferguson users, but needing to upgrade our 6480. just wandering what everyone's thoughts are on experience with either brand and pros and cons of each?

Yeah I have looked over the forums and the reviews are not the best.! Hopefully going to be getting a demonstrator. We had a look at a 6155r looked a bit lightweight for a 155-195 horsepower tractor. What model have you got? The fuel consumption seems to have considerably improved since the addition of the ad blue.!Try a John Deere for yourself. The forum don't rate them and to be honest it's put me off for years. Until I spoke to local real users about them, and tried one for myself then swiftly did a deal. They are a lovely thing to drive, and seemingly reliability isn't too terrible in the real world. Fuel use certainly isn't out the way, especially on the new ad blue ones.
I wonder if some of the forum members base their experience on hearsay and britains models?
We have currently got two dyna 6's and a vt at the moment. Big difference in the ride quality from the efficient to exclusive specification.! The main reason to change would be the use of the greenstar. Have you had any use of the equiviliant for Massey Ferguson?I'm a Massey fan, so a bit biased.
The Sisu engine will be way better than the JD.
The Dyna 6 will be better than PowerQuad, if going 50K, but if DD proves reliable it is better again.
JD's are gone big and heavy and no longer have a tractor to compete with a MF 7718.
I have a 6490 and 6 older Coventry MFs from a 4345 back to a Ferguson 35.Yeah I have looked over the forums and the reviews are not the best.! Hopefully going to be getting a demonstrator. No they use to use them on the 62 and early 64 series. Is the new front axle a Carraro like on the Claas' ?
Because if so the comfort should be way better..
Test drove a demo Claas over some nasty bumps at 40kph just to test it, and while it didn't look pleasant for the machine i were just oscillating as if the chair and cab was hung with bungee cord.
Agreed, there is no way the JD is comparable to the Sisu.I dont think you will able to conpare the sisu engine to the latest adblue JD.The earlier one wont be that far behind as well. Reliability's is good on the latest as well and cab comfort etc. You are wanting more a 6175r size?.
Class and MF have never used the same suspended axles on mid range models. Is the new front axle a Carraro like on the Claas' ?
