The filler cap can still be unscrewed with a spanner as I bored it thru fitted a bulk head fitting and put a spot of weld to the nut underneath to stop it falling into the gear box.
How else can you get a return line on a ,35?

There is a return port on the top cover, left hand side in front of cross shaft, I will get a photo later

It was a trick question (Sorry) Many years ago we had a Howard big bale gripper fitted to a 65s Industrial with a loader and that's exactly how the dealer plumbed ours. What a PITA it was having to unscrew that return line before you could take the filler cap off. Good job we didn't need to do it often! I often wondered if there could have been a better way of doing it.

I found that out after to but it's only 3/8 so I left it be , even on a 35 a return restriction would be bad
So maybe it was the best idea after all. The loader/ backhoe* arrangement on our 65s worked off the crankshaft driven pump , there would have been way too much flow from that system for the bale gripper so that's why we had it working from the tractor's back end pump.
* Of course when we used it for bale loading we took the backhoe off.

We use third service from the crank driven pump no problem, that includes bale squeeze

How did you work a counter weight when back hoe removed? Ours has been off for many years now. Just have the front bucket on the back full of scrap and concrete blocks

The tractor had 3 point linkage and The Howard Bigbaler system included baler, gripper and linkage mounted counterweight box (Plus a stand to put the the box on if you wanted to take it off!) Which we filled with sand. All for less than £5000!
