Why o why

I am sure they will survive without my business but by the same rub other manufacturers can also look after my wants quite well.
Very happy to have made the change.View attachment 445810

What engine!!!?

Lexus dealers are supposed to be the stuff of legend. Like they will pop by your house, collect the car, service it and replace it.

I would LOVE a Lexus ISF.... fupping mental car.

5.0 V8 non turbo 478 ponies.
Civilised and refined below 3800 rpm.
Seriously strong and amazing sound after that. Sounds better and more fruity then RS4 and interior top notch. Very happy.
Lexus dealer will give free wash and vac on a Saturday as well if you book it. Don't get that from your Audi dealer.

Main dealers aren't bothered just like mobile phone company' s, there will be another upset customer coming from another dealer shortly.
Although I must admit the Volvo dealer carried on out of warranty with an ongoing problem & carried it themselves.

Mum had it in Sept, she's 82 and has a little Ford Fiesta 1.2 Petrol which is 10 years old and she's had from new, it's only covered 35000 miles

She always books it into the local Ford dealer in town, for it's annual service and MOT, albeit a few weeks early

Never been a problem, until this year

Mid morning they call her and say it's failed the MOT on a couple of points, rear trailing arm bushes and brakes (non specific though)

However the 20 something 'Service Receptionist' girl reeled off a load of items that needed doing, like cambelt/brake fluid flush/clutch fluid flush/new front discs and pads, because they were fudgeing 50% worn(meaning they were 50% good), a leak from the clutch master cylinder (inside the bell housing, for fudgeing sake), plus the MOT items etc (brake issue was slightly corroded front flexi pipes)

So she enquires how much?

Oh, just £1900 madam.................fudeing hell, the cars only worth £2-£2500

She calls me in a state

I spoke to the garage and told them to stop any work immediately and i'm on my way over, when the girl asks..................NOW

I gets there and she produces the list, I said if you're doing the brake flexi hoses and clutch master cylinder why are charging another £60 + £60 for a clutch and brake fluid change?
Surely you're into those hydraulic circuits anyhow, as part of the repair and the fluid will be changed?

Dunno, sir...............computer says what we have to do??

Fudgeing Hell

I had a look at the car up in the air and fluid from clutch was very old and probably spilt from a previous change and not fresh and leaking, but ye gods they were going to take the engine and gearbox out, before cleaning off to monitor any fresh fluid leaks

I told them to take it off the ramp and went in and paid for the MOT fail, plus the oil and filter change service

The dumb blond receptionist said, oh no you can't take it home, it's failed the MOT and has to be repaired here

On yer bike, I said and give me the keys

I drove it to the village garage, we use and they have been going for 60 years - they had a look after the weekend and did the 2 MOT jobs - which they wouldn't have failed for the front flexi brake hoses, topped up the aircon, cleaned off the clutch fluid and checked it wasn't leaking, it wasn't................all for £280

No new front brakes needed

No engine out, for a clutch master cylinder leak

Cambelt replacement optional, but they wouldn't bother at 35k miles

Fudgeing main dealers:mad:

You were lucky they let you in the workshop ....

...........and in the real world?

You can be escorted and accompanied, with the appropriate safety clothing

That's as maybe........................ but a lot of places do take customers in..... escorted and some don't

Audi dealers are arrogant beyond belief.
When the salesman stated no discount on factory orders, in such a way to belittle me for asking I walked. The What car target price was £1500 below!
I gave up with Audis a few years back for several reasons a hole sales men and women and unpleasant service departments.
On one amusing episode I was getting A6 allroad serviced and some recall work to be done and having to sign more bits of paper than god knows what . I had an A6 as a curtesy car the little service man had his clip board and walked around it marking every tiny dent scratch on it some I couldn't even see . I think to drop my car off and collect curtesy car took 3/4 hr .So off I goes in the car it's winter peeing down and I'm off to Hexham to try and buy some stores on a Friday with the delude idea if I fatten them up I'll make my fortune .
It's only 20 minutes up A69 from Newcastle Audi and I'll be early so I takes the back roads up the Tyne valley with soft verges water running down either side mud on roads where smelly farmers have left it . So by the time I got to Hexham it was in a bit of a state - Didn't buy anything at mart and was hoping that the garage would call to say my car was ready. After several cups off coffee and a lot of talk of poor trade from sellers and he'll make nowt from them beast as they far out dear today from buyers. I call garage to see when when the car car will be ready 4 they say so off I sets on a nice little ride around the back roads once more arriving back at Newcastle Audi with a very dirty car finds little pointy shoes and purple shirt boy to give him the keys back and he trots me out to the car with his clip board , it's dark the cars covered in shite and he has a quick walk around it and says it's ok you wouldn't be able to tell if someone had key'd it let alone anything else. I was curious to see what would happen when I took it back .
I got an email survey sent I actually filled it in saying what a total waste my time the dropping and collecting of my car was . The MD of the group called me about the survey I think to try and intimidate me - I kindly explained that when I leave my car to be serviced all I want to do is to be in and out asap - I was told that the garage like to make it into an experience for the customer and maybe I wasn't aware of this . I pointed out that waiting for umpteen forms to be printed off and signed etc was not an experience I enjoy, why couldn't all the frond be ready just to be signed- after much twoing and froing I believe he asked if I had much dealings with main dealers I kindly explained that when leaving my Mitsubishi pickup at the main dealers it's a quick sign of doc and keys to Curtesy car and out the door . He kinda gave up .

Why?
MOT Fail - customer can be shown the faults

The nearest range rover lot go round with an iPad to take video while the mechanic(??!) gives commentary. The video is then emailed to the owner and they can make contact to confirm any work (likely ime) that is probably exceedingly expensive.

Wife has had 60 reg corsa a 1.2d from new, 90k+miles, has had new particulate filter, she called me I said park up n went over to have a look. Manual said call dealer, did and explained problem, they said drive it in tomorrow 18 miles. As a consequence required new catalytic converter. She went to pick up car handed bill for the latter. She called me, if they wont release car get back in loan car whilst i sort it out. Service manager calls me saying if loan car not returned he will call police. Explained if he did any copper with half a brain and full story will tell him to fudge off as its a civil dispute. He called police gave full story they told him to fudge off. He called back and admitted service receptionist had confirmed we had been told to drive car in. He stood cost and personally apologised to wife. At 86k miles i noted rattle from cam chain, common problem. Service receptionist told her that model didn't have cam chain, don't worry dear most husband's like to think they know about cars. Took it in for mechanic who confirmed cam chain problem, service receptionist ran away when she appeared to pick car up. Glad it has the 100k warranty but ignoring individuals stupidity Vauxhall have been surprisingly good.

I was talking to an independent garage that specialises in vehicle electronics (about the Ford DPF 'issue'). He mentioned an Audi that couldn't be fixed by the main dealer (non starter), and the cars owner called him in.
Audi had by this point involved its 'master technicians' who had changed the ECU and the entire fuel system: £5800, and it still wouldn't start.
The non Audi specialist found the fault - a micro fuse. Audi are refusing to back down on the bill, as they say that their 'master technicians' checked every fuse...
