Does it take you to really lose it sometimes to get a result and stop folk taking you for a ride.
My Audi has been in Nottingham audi for 6 weeks come Tuesday. The short version is a week before it's first MOT and hence end of warranty I reported some faults.when it went back 3 weeks later to get the work done they said it was out of warranty !.
The argument has been long and they have point blank lied but luckily they record calls which helped me.
Having only extremely slowly made any progress I blocked their forecourt entrance on Friday, and demanded the branch manager.
I collect my repaired car tomorrow and the bill is now £500 from the £5500 they tried taking to start.
Made me realise how many people must get turned over by people like this.
On top of that it is the 3rd RS Audi I have had from them so what the hell they must treat one of customers like I can only guess.
Hate creating a fuss but sometimes it's the only way.

A local well known garage sold me a car which turned out to be stolen. The police took the car. The garage lent me a beat up old car as a temporary measure, took that and lent me another even more beaten up car which would not have passed any MOT. I was getting nowhere.
I stood in his stand in the local well attended agricultural show and shouted "about that stolen car you sold me".. no notice taken, so I borrowed a microphone and started again "about the stolen car you sold me..." A crowd gathered, including a couple of coppers, and silence fell....
I had the car back the next day. He had finally bought it from the insurance company.

Audi main dealers breed a special kind of crook. I've dealt with two in the last decade. One sent me a bill for £2500 for my RR part exchange being not as described, three months after the event [presumably because they burnt their fingers in a declining market]. This was an English dealer. Never went back after that. Told them where to stuff their bill, of course, which they accepted and presumably stuffed it in the lying sales woman's orifice.
The second was the servicing South Wales dealer who tried to uplift invoices with unnecessary work and parts and which finally tried to sell me a new seat because their ' technicians ' claimed had two burnt out motors which were not available separately. They kindly offered a special price of £1000 plus fitting. I declined. Local mechanic repaired it in an hour with only insulating tape.
No doubt they fleece most customers with ease.

Brother has just had similar trouble with his Isuzu dealer (which is connected to a JLR dealer). Went in to fix a leak in the break light on top of the cab. They told him it was covered by warranty, did the work, then decided it wasn't a warranty job and demanded £500 on collection. Needless to say he told them to shove it, so they reversed the work, put the leaking light back on and demanded £25 instead. He went in incandescent with rage and left without having to pay. He sold the truck within a week just so he won't have to deal with them again.

There all crooks main dealers they just try it on! Our VW golf was only 4 years old went in for service .Ring up saying lots of faults ,it was going to cost£2500 to sort out .Jobs and parts other garages had never heard of . Anyway I told them to change the filters and that's it .Next minute there service manager rings me up in a tis ,oh sir if your not having this work done you'll have to sign a declaration to say we've notified you .So that's what I did and never went back!

I've always tried to avoid main dealers and their prices, wherever possible. However, I have to say I've had nothing but exceptional service from a local chain of dealerships called JT Hughes. I still wouldn't choose to pay their labour costs where there is an option, but the last 2 cars have come through them (2nd hand) and the back up has been first rate. Thankfully not all stealerships are like the one in the OP.

These long warranties that are being offered with new vehicles seem great when you buy it but it's frightening how many stories you hear about problems that turn out not to be covered because of some smallprint or some lame excuse about you being a few weeks late having an annual service done, etc.

Nice one @Clever Dic (y) Pleased you got them round to your way of thinking;)
