I'm surprised Douglas Brae have not been mentioned yet. Open back with sides, no collection tanks for blood etc. They do cover their loads but not uncommon to see a hoof sticking out. Seen them throwing sheep from one lorry to another if they are overloaded. Also never have your heater on if following them.

Their men are hardy fellas, wee shaky, and can't remember the other fellas name used to come down here and sleep in the lorry for a day or two until they had a load to go home!

They are taken back to Keith and then I believe they are all shipped to Preston to burn.

Clearly see its Longbridge Island on A46/M40. Daughter decided no. plate obscured enough. If anyone can read please pm me and I'll get her to doctor it!
Only problem I have with this pic is that if you look at the pickup it seems to be riding pretty high for something that's carrying the best part of a ton? We often put dumpy bags in the back of ours and it sits a bit lower when loaded.

It won't be weighing much when it's blown up like that.;) As @Henarar posted earlier, it should be tied down.:D

I believe it's genuine from who's sent it to my wife. Where it was and who we think it is. Accept it or not, if a prank still not good image.

Heard of people with mesh backed silage trailers transporting cows a fair distance for emergency slaughter and then pick up a load of silage/straw/beet on the way back (y)

Wouldn't get away with that now surely? if a casualty can't walk on to a cattle trailer and stand for the journey it has to be on farm slaughter over here, I imagine it has to be the same for you guys??.

Douglas brae offer a great service, they hover around lay-bys waiting for a call. A bit like vultures!

I have a friend who phoned a certain knackery firm one morning to come in and despatch a cow and take her away.He also had a cow that had calved the previous night, before his lunch he decided to give the calve a sook so he tied the cow to the feed barrier and got the calve going, the calve was sooking away so he decided to go off for his lunch. When he came out from his lunch the knackery man was busy winching a cow onto the lorry, trouble was it was the cow that had been tied to the feed barrier and not the old rake with the bad hip who was still standing there, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry when he told me.
