Arla

Perhaps if the paid arla reps could give a damn and actually visit the farmers on farm once in a while then the farmers might feel a bit more valued and attend more meetings

Well as reps we are being encouraged to promote kitchen table meetings. Perhaps you should offer your kitchen table and invite a group of neighbouring farmers and ask your elected rep to come along.

Getting farmer's to attend meetings is hard work!
You have to make it as inviting and friendly as possible maybe it should be compulsory in order to get the 13th payment?

I have stopped going to local meetings and have only been to one arla one , just seem the same old ejets moaning about the same thing as they were at the milk marque, they are to depressing and if I need to listen to someone who thinks the mmb was great have the old man to hand:shifty:
Well the chairperson should control the meeting. That's what they are paid to do

It is TRUE we have a Mvf rep, agromist and even a few machinery reps who will venture in our lane but the one part of our business that turns the most money and we are not known to any of the management at all. Really strange situation.

Exactly the same here. There are 2 old edgets who are always there whinging at the front making ridiculous comments, I would pay good money never to be in a room with either ever again.

Also the website is really good and has a lot of information on and I'm very happy to just ring my very helpful rep if I ever have any queries.

Your farmer reps will give a report on the farmers views/concerns from the district meetings when they go to regional meetings . You may be amazed how far a constructive comment can go within the company ,so well worth turning up to district meetings , it's your company after all
Constructive comments would be great, but moaning about the price when their sending white water on a manufacturer contract ain't much use(n) and nearest meet to me is a good hours drive and like @Cows 'n grass said reps are on the phone and website had good info.

Do you mean the agricultural managers? Or the farmer reps elected from members? There are 6 agriculture managers covering the country, they are often on farm but usually where there is a problem, so if you have never had a visit you must be doing well. Remember their pay comes out of our milk cheque, so if they came to visit just for a general chat, effectively you would be the one paying for it.

Thanks for the offer sidjon but I think i'd better stay and support my district meeting ...maybe the turn out would be better if they changed venue maybe a pole dancing club in Newquay :)

I was thinking?! instead of meetings perhaps we have trips out say to taw valley, Aylesbury or anything that gets engagement. With a small meeting afterwards, this would hopefully get more members involved in the district as a group.

There is nothing to stop a district getting together and arranging something like this or it is also well within the rights of a district to call any member of staff at arla to come to there meeting to answer questions and explain there role within arla .

Have you got Peder Tuborgh's number then? I'll give him a call , see if he wants to come and answer some questions at Welshpool , might help turnout :)
On a serious note , I like the idea of organising a factory tour

Arla monitor TFF on a daily basis, well that's what they said at our last district meeting :D

So don't even have to go to the meeting to get your concerns heard ;)

Morrisons Press release today.

https://www.morrisons-corporate.com...s/morrisons-agrees-milk-deal-with-arla-foods/

Morrisons has agreed a new three-year contract starting in March 2018 that will mean its own-brand liquid milk is provided by Arla Foods.

Morrisons is looking forward to working more closely with their farmers on a range of sustainability and animal welfare measures.

As part of this deal, Morrisons is also committing to further enhancing its regional and local milk offering.

Steve Newbould, Morrisons Head of Trading - Dairy, said: “We believe this agreement will be simpler for our business and will help to develop a sustainable dairy sector.”
