That was what I was thinking. Plenty time to moan on here but not wanting to do anything about it!
No I was being serious in @celtisman area only one person put themselves so we need to find/push people forward for these positions, there is some brilliant business minded farmers out there that would be great having more of a voice in the direction of arla.

Not just an Arla problem but the weak spot in most Coop's make up why do members refuse to stand and are reticent to air their opinions publicly. Do they not realise that undoubtedly not every one will agree with them but pearls of wisdom are not always acknowledged initiialy. In any case be man enough to stand up speak up and have the grace to apologise if you are proven incorrect

Totally agree, diversity of opinions and view points are crucial to get the best governance within any organisation. Being challenged, by other owners and owner representatives is a key way to make any co-op better, even if it needs hard work to make sure views are listened too.

When I went to the february meeting I thought no we all thought the local extensive grazing nuffield scholar was up for the job. I didn't go to the last district meeting as we were busy calving and lambing. In my opinion for what tiz worth we ought to jointly run it as there are only around 14members in the st Austull district.

Bit of good news for me as autumn calver currently all of my dry period was included in A liter qualifying period. But as i am not up upto full production to gain from positive b liters in late summer, i am just taking the hit in the spring. With new scheme I only produce handful b liters. Steady price all year here ☺.
Foab just interested in reasoning to change B liter price from % of A, too a ppkg each month?

The change to ppkg from % was so it was easier to plan ahead as to what is coming in and what would be going out. If there was a bit change in milk price either up or down from the first 6 months to the 2nd 6 months of the year it was very difficult to plan how much will be required to fill the payments. Also there is 30p coming in in the first 6 months and 30p going out in the 2nd 6 months. Much easier to plan ahead and for admin.

With low milk prices the % basis was not proving enough of a penalty in the spring or enough of a bonus in the autumn.

It wasn't the % that didn't give the bonus in the autumn, it was the fact that unless you expanded milk production every year in the autumn you didn't get the bonus hence the move to a 12month base.
