On the road to his from carslie, up in the hills to the north I called into a spring calver, outside woodchip pad, that near you or you closer to the coast?
I'm in the centre of the peninsula, right on the coast, I think the place you are on about is near Dumfries so about 70miles away, I march mcintoshs land,

I know I should measure grass but I don't, but I do walk or drive the whole grazing platform every Wednesday afternoon, making notes and writing a 2 week plan.

In the last week grass growth here has gone from phenomenal at last week's walk to negligible at this week's walk.

Rain now please.

Glad I'm not the only one with a "lax" attitude to grass measurement.

I measure it religiously up to about Royal Cornwall time. Then it gets hot, cows dry off so less demand for what grass their is then I'm calving then its October so what's the point? But I do have a pair of eyes and Jack Russell that needs walking so she'll do instead.
