Strange here at Stoneleigh too. Really warm and humid, gauge says 22 degrees.

Hardly any wind yet, gentle breeze.

On my first load of lime the dust was drifting north, second load 15 minutes later, drifting east.

When it starts raging I'm just going to park up on the headland and set the spreader going. I think the dust will blow nicely down the field and, a real bonus, absolutely zero compaction on the drilled field.

Let's 'ave it.

Wind starting to wind itself up here now. Black sky, red sun and warm enough to wear a mankini.

Thankfully have got the generator battery fully charged as I reckon it's going to be a bad few hours to come :(

91 knots recorded at Fastnet lighthouse.
160 km/h + recorded elsewhere (Valentia?)
All trains, buses, flights & ferries cancelled.
People seen jet skiing off the coast by Valentia coast guard

Someone rang radio station to complain that the weather forcast was being talked up and rte should be ashamed of themselves, it's just a bit windy that's all. :banghead: Radio presenter asked them to ring back tomorrow and let us all know how they feel then :sneaky:

Spreading update - I know you're all on tenterhooks. ;)

Third load, got a bit draughty so thought I'd have a cuppa and see what happens. Dead calm, so put another load on. Bit choppy down the field so went along steady. There's a bunch of cottages in the corner of the field so knocked on the doors to warn them about the dust, all fine with it except a cute woman in a t shirt and not much else who seemed very concerned. I was happy to answer as many questions as necessary to allay her fears. ;)

Now, half an hour later, everything is clammy with a kind of dew and the sun looks like a huge ripe satsuma.

Dead calm again now. Very strange.

I would never be so bold, much to my regret in my single days. I never was much good at small talk.

Whilst concerned, she seemed very happy to chat for a few minutes. I suppose some blokes would get a chance in but I'm happy at home!!
just having a laugh (y)
you ever had the environmental lot called out ?
I did a couple times, some folk were saying that they had trouble breathing, load of twaddle
