91 knots recorded at Fastnet lighthouse.
160 km/h + recorded elsewhere (Valentia?)
All trains, buses, flights & ferries cancelled.
People seen jet skiing off the coast by Valentia coast guard

Someone rang radio station to complain that the weather forcast was being talked up and rte should be ashamed of themselves, it's just a bit windy that's all. :banghead: Radio presenter asked them to ring back tomorrow and let us all know how they feel then :sneaky:

Always get the odd eedjit about....

Just heard from Big Sis outside Kinvara, I think she was ready to go outside and rope her poly tunnels and shed down! She sent this at 8.30..

Norwegian weather says 'near gale' between 3-4pm today otherwise just windy. No mention of hurricane... Might not be a big drama after all.

Might have a different view at 8.30 tomorrow... As I pointed out, that is Norway! :)

Kinvarra! Eek! Bit close to the water that.

News just saying one dead in Co. Waterford after tree fell on car.
120-150 km/h winds forecast.

just having a laugh (y)
you ever had the environmental lot called out ?
I did a couple times, some folk were saying that they had trouble breathing, load of twaddle

Had a call from Environmental Health the other week about the stench in the village. ????

Turned out to be the sewage sludge men they were after. Some resident took my number off the spreader, added 2+2 and made 5

Dad had a bloke out once 20+ years ago. He said he knew what was going on before he left the office but has to visit if a complaint is made. He told Dad to carry on.

Wind is from the south west now. Very cloudy, no sun and the light reminds me of the eclipse day a couple of years ago.

First thing this morning I let Barley The Wonder Dog out for our game of catch and throw. She skipped out and immediately trotted back to bed again. It was as if she knew something wasn't right. A chap on the footpath here was almost dragging his dog along saying he didn't know what was up with her.

Gonna have to stop spreading now.

Aye not a lot to slow the winds down there, although the property is 2 miles inland... just! I think she might be in a little bit of shelter, but those speeds will move stuff with back pressure, it doesn't need a direct blow.
