Made some step covers for the tractors from Ali tread plate so the pooch doesn't break a leg when jumping into and out of the tractor. When she was young she would clear all the steps but now she up is getting older she is starting to use them. Only problem is I have to be careful now incase I break a leg, as they are a bit slippier than the original steps! Lucky I fix for free on the NHS, unlike the mutt.

This is a wee add on to my Ifor williams trailer for a job I have on tomorrow. More pics to follow late on tonight when I get it finished.

Winch fitted to the front of the Ivor Williams trailer, only in red oxide so far, (and not even all of it got that!) might get a top coat some day.

Knocked together a snatch block to go with it, just incase my eBay bargain basement winch isn't man enough.

Road trip today to pick up a B-275! Lovely weather for it.

Black Isle has nice views.

Snatch block required to drag it up onto the trailer, didn't like the sound the winch was making when the tractor was being pulled on the level.

Back home to its original county.

My dog sits and waits for me to lift her out was always scared of it hurting itself on the steps so got told of every time it tried to jump in out when it was younger
When she was young she wouldn't jump into the car or the tractor, had to be lifted everytime, but now if even leave the tractor door open she is straight in.

The winch did the job. What is the win h rated to. Thinking of doing something similar to mine.

3000lbs written on it. Have a search on eBay, it cost about £50, think it has 10m of cable. Which isn't very long when you are working over a trail and ramps and using a snatch block.

It was bought for another project (clay pigeon trap wobbler mechanism, which might get posted here even though it's non farming) and might yet end up on the front of the quad if I can shoehorn it in. Seem to be bogging down the quad more often than I should?

Can’t really argue for that price. Would be ideal for fitting on top of my post knocker to lift big telegraph pole strainers into position.

Recently, I've been watching 'Post driver porn' as the wife calls it, with a view to making one in the future. (Making a post driver, not a porn film, before anyone else asks!)That's a good idea, regarding lifting the posts, haven't seen that on any of the professional ones. You better get it patented and sell the rights!

Good idea that , just thinking it might be better mounted lower down where it won't get damaged by trees , and run the cable up over the top on a couple small pulleys (y) , those big bottom ends of electric poles don't get any lighter do they !

Looks good ! I will pop over and see the tractor one day you are free (y)

Anytime, but bring your spanners as as this is a non runner, hence winching it onto the trailer. Plans are to mix and match with the one I already have, who's tin work isn't as good, and get one fully restored initially. Then worry about the engine issues on this one.

Apologies as this post isn't strictly farming, but is in my workshop.

Clay trap as it arrived. I was too frugal to buy a wobble box when I bought the trap. So set about making one myself.

First idea was to try a wiper motor. eBay purchase, new for £20. Mounted in a StSt frame and a crank fitted to try out to see if it was man enough. Worked ok for horizontal movement but wasn man enough for vertical even without a load of clays in the trap.
