Well lifting beet hasn't happened.
East wind with minus temps equals frozen beet for a 2nd time  I suppose when they are fit to go at least we might be able to travel. The cold wind has dried things a little.

So the other task for the day was attending this.

The week after being on the front cover of classic tractor he was gone :(

As you've probably seen on my TAW posts, the boys have done a hell of a lot for us over the years and sim will contine to I'm sure.

Bit of charity work today,

Winds took grandads roof off last week, and what does a 78 year old with no intention of retiring do? Announce he can fix it  even though his second favourite grandson puts sheds up :banghead:

So went and got it done before he did

View attachment 648044

Even treated him to a new gutter, going for the position of number one grandson :shy:

Sad times, @carbonfibre farmer :(, very very sad to read of someone going at such a young age. Our main haulage contractor passed away a couple of weeks ago, again in his mid forties, no age.....

I liked your post out of respect, as actually liking the content is very difficult unfortunately.:(

Fitting tribute to have his wagon there, very nice.

He'll only complain that you've used new sheets

Good job though and a good attitude (y)

When we do a shed there’s always 2 or 3 sheets spare so I’ve saved them, they’re all slightly different shade of grey but it hasn’t cost him owt :D even the new 9x3’s are some that I’ve used for concrete shutters. Only think I’m going to have to buy is new ridge.

He’ll still moan

To change subject, wouldn't the factory take your beet frozen?
They probably would. Be need to be going straight in really. And as you can see our haulier was a bit tied up. I know we want our beet in but just sometimes other things are more important. (That's not meant to sound harsh btw, my crap way of putting things across )

We sat next to our contractor lifter and fieldsman there too. Maybe lift some tomorrow. If not Wednesday. But lift to cart rather that all in one lump.
