A pint of custard from ewe's uterus?!

Something I haven't come across before. Was lambing a ewe yesterday ( big single) and after it had delivered lamb as all the post birthing gunk was coming out, it suddenly appeared that a pint of custard was being poured out of her uterus! :yuck: It didn't smell and she cleared it up along with the afterbirth. I'm guessing that she must have had some kind of huge abscess in there? I gave her a shot of Betamox (temp normal) and think I'll keep her in so I can monitor her for the next couple of days but she's fine in herself. It was grossly fascinating and earned her the merit of 'Ewe of the Day' for the entertainment value she gave me in a tough day! Anyone had anything similar?

Was she scanned as a single?

We see the occasional ewe scan as a twin then produce one good lamb and a load of "custard" as you say,
I've always assumed it's the other lamb- too late on to be re-absorbed but early enough not to do any damage

No custard to report but we had a dead, bloated lamb accompanied by what seemed like half a gallon of rhubarb puree and no lambing fluids or other cleansing:banghead:

I'm aware this is breakfast time, so those in for their cornflakes/ bacon may want to 'look away now':wtf::wtf:

I’ll give you a hint: It wasn’t custard.
