Had a ewe mothering a single, it had sucked and all seemed well. Noticed it was scanned for 2 and had moan about scanner man getting it wrong. Turned them out after a few days and a week later she gave birth to twins. Still don't know where the first lamb came from!
To be fair I'm often this tired for a lot of the rest of the year too.They came to see our system 30 years ago
It does amaze me the folk i see locally slaving away day and night doing work the ewes are meant to do ---why keep sheep when sheep can keep you?

Went to feed ewes today. Drove through gate to find a dry bit of ground. Walked round them, shut the gate, chained it up then turned to get on the bike which had gone.

Day 6 of lambing ----34% done

We had a very steady first week (from April 1st), which I thought odd as all but about ten ewes were in lamb to the first cycle, then all hell broke loose for the second week. I have never had so many lambing each day, peaking at 70 odd. Morning rounds were starting at 7 and finishing after 1 for several days, then in for my tea at about 10:30. I think the ewes are about 90% done now, but the hoggs were tipped steadily over 2 cycles, just to stretch the job out.
Hoping to get some sleep in a day or two.

Ive just about finished aswell about 220 left and i went to bed at 10 last night so feeli g fresh today lovely and sunny here and the rounds have become enjoyable again..for now...

Went to grab some more double tags from the draw, fresh bag...... spent some time checking the two stacks of tags matched, turned them over and back again several times.....convinced that shearwell had miss printed and the stacks were 1 number out.....
