Peak lambing since about 9.30pm last night.
Massive contrast from ticking over at 7 or so/day.
Unexpected triples in the doubles area (scanned bit late, Scanner vg.).
Half way stage reached.
Steer me to the clothes line, plz....zzzzzzzzzzzz...

No such problem for New Zealand shepards,
most use lambing as a good time to take some holiday... now is it them or us that are the fools...

Two hogg singles and two ewe singles all day today, bless 'em. Ewe singles twinned on - one even chose a lamb before she had her own.
Fortunately it was one of a selection from a treble ... .
Just realised it's gone half past April. Longer daylight, less chance of mis-seeing things:
Went to singles group at some point yesterday, honestly lost track of time, and saw ewe struggling with heart-stoppingly massive breach lamb.
It was the only full tailed deary in the flock having a deep, deep sleep on her side ...
Fortunately it was one of a selection from a treble ... .

We into the lambing shed at 3am and turned the tap on to fill a trough. Went to turn it off and it wouldn't turn, cursed enough to shame my mother in Tenerife. Stormed off to get spanners and such, got back and turned the tap the other way in a rage to rip it off the wall and just like magic it turned off.

In a nutshell . . . . . yes.
No family farm, no owned ground, nothing, for both myself and my other half.
No subsidy either.
And thats what our clients have. One has 1750, one 2700 etc. . . .

Ran out of milk (for me not lambs).....that's ok, off to see stock over the Vale so I'll pop in one - stop. ....I know I have a £2 coin under the steering wheel in the landy so don't need my wallet......

Came in from a difficult lambing (all fine ) and decided to pour myself a glass of wine, as the yard-arm was dark. Then the phone rang, apparently yet again my router is sending out virus. I played along for a while to wind them up and then when I got off the phone, decided to pour myself a glass of wine....
So there are now two glasses getting attention. Cos I am worth it!

Putting a small bale of straw in the main pen for lambs to play "king of the castle" on and realising a few days later that the strings have come loose. In order to stop lambs and ewes getting tangled up you hang the loops outside the pens. After feed time you climb over the pens carrying a bag of feed and put one foot through the hanging loops without realising.

I'm reassured to know I'm not the only one providing lambs with castles. I always feed the ewes into the centre of the pen to allow an unimpeded Lamb Grand National track round the outside.
