It's all good fun speculating.

The direction of flow at Dale Farm is certainly inward these days. And that's fact. I wont go into specifics. Steady queue at the door. If any of you are thinking about it - don't dither too long.

As for price - its best to wait for the board meeting!

Is there much justification for another price drop? The jungle drums seem to be indicating a strengthening of the markets. Whats the ufu price indicator at this week?

I heard Zs is at the front of the queue, rumoured to have Nicks mobile number on speed dial! Thought he'd better jump ship before Aurivo are looking for a 'merger' too(y)(y)(y)

DF at least a hold, nobody will want to drop Balmoral show week.

Never say never. I'm humble enough to say I was wrong and take more money at the same time. As Johnny rotten says ......the only notes that count come in a wad

Who is going to take them at the minute. Any other dairy that was interested in LP had to sign a non compete agreement before they got access to the books.
I thought it was a non disclosure agreement but I'd heard rumours of a gentleman's agreement not to take on suppliers from other companies which seems strange in a competitive market

Sure there was always a gentleman's agreement that United was the only one they'd poach off. The first I was aware of that breaking down was back in either 13 or 14, when ToM price lagged for months on end, and producers started to jump to fane valley, who had begun recruiting.

It looks like there is a hint of panic and desperation setting in now though, as they have told their producers to sit tight and hope for a golden handshake from whatever company takes them over, in return for committing their supply to them. Seems unlikely that will happen though as the pool is on the big side, from the affordability point of view of the purchasing company. Such a handshake would total a lot of money. That would have to come out of the buying price presumably, and the shareholders will lose out, which they won't allow.

It would be that too, the information provided to suitors will include producers details, while negotiations are going on they can't use that information for their own gain, so no poaching customers or suppliers.

If more than one suitor wouldn’t the potential merging parties be better off without grabbing producers prior, if it came to a vote?

Can’t see a golden handshake either. Why would there be. ATM LP can’t even pay their producers a good price. Not sure why they can’t tbh. Strange business.

Fewer bigger coops definitely good news for NI dairy though.
