Whenever we've done trials we've always harvested whatever crop is remaining to sell, although in your case you won't want to be harvesting anything with BG in it and then we invoice the trial company for the average yield for that field and crop at the market price we sell at. All very fair as long as the the trial does not cause to much disruption.
In your case if your going to allow BG to grow then it must be removed long before seed fall.

I had a bg trial in some set aside 20 years ago
No problem now as if your rotation is bg proliferating it makes very little difference you still get bg eventually
If you rotation is bg reducing eventually it reduce to very little
The field in the trial is now bg free after a rotation with double spring crops and low disturbance notill

If the trial finishes before the blackgrass seed is viable (usually early June), you/they should either glyphosate it all (if its a mess), or just the worst parts. As glyphosate will kill the crop aswell, you should get compensated for the grain loss.
You may even find that the amount of blackgrass in that area over the next few years is actually lower than the rest of field. Although the rest of the field will get your standard herbicide programme, any resistant plants or new germination will not necessarily be controlled; glyphosate will kill all plants.

I all ways have BG trials and find them very useful, I always ask too be shown round them in early June just before they are sprayed off , you can see what treatments work best on your farm , I get on really well with the trial company so works well .

i would let them do it for free just for the info that you will get from the trail and more importantly from the people that you can interrogate while they are there

I've had some here for 3 years, if they are using new unregistered products then you won't be able to keep the harvested grain for sale...

+1, they may not be able to tell you what all the products are, but they can possibly tell you how some of the commonly available products or tank-mixes/sequences have performed
