Please can we have another referendum

I bow to the learned @Old McDonald , me being just a simple sheep farmer

For many years I have described myself as an educated peasant. I have a peasant's outlook on life and fairly well live the life of one with a wee bit of spare cash for wine with dinner.

I know I have posted all this before, including a link to various Treaties, but I believe I was first informed about the founding Treaty at school. It was only 12 years after the end of WWII after all, and at a guess, I would say that about half of the masters had been in it - one had the MC that I recall. It was an all boys grammar school run by the County Council, not a private one.

My recollection was that some of these masters were very edgy about Germany being involved in a "club" of several States with a view to bringing them all together politically. It bothered me too and I sort of followed the goings on. I left school in 1960 but continued studying, initially subjects such as the British Constitution, Economics and a bit of political history. This was only at A level to permit me to move on to higher level studies in law whilst still working.

By the time of the first referendum I was totally convinced it was a bad idea for the UK, although a good one for most of mainland western Europe. I still hold that view, and I am conscious of the vast amount of EU money that has been poured into Portugal. We have a fantastic road and rail system for starters. I can travel at full permitted motorway speed to within a quarter mile of Lisbon airport 235kms away. The alternative is a very cheap rail journey and 10 mins in a taxi, or by underground which I have never used.

I hate the expression. Makes folk who just strolled out and voted to quit sound far too brave, glamorous; and err French.

These days I prefer the term Brexitologists.
Brexitology does have uncanny parallels with Scientology after all. The innocent get sucked in by mad missoners, and soon give up all their worldly possessions to remain part of the movement.

It was not in reference to the servicemen who gave their lives,of which i have some in my family, but as Muckspreader says, the old ones who have come after!

Regardless, the older generation were born and raised in a very different environment to today’s, and should be respected for it. Respect for the elderly is a cornerstone of society.

At what age will you find it acceptable for the younger generation to brand you a stupid old codger?

What gets me is those calling for others to lose their rights face the same calls in reverse if the majority falls the other way.

Beyond foolish.

These people seem to have forgotten how Facism and the Nazis were created .. they denied democracy.

You dont know me mate, but if you did, that is exactly what i am not!
Well stop acting like it then
The vote was what it was and those that voted had their reasons what has happened since was/is not down to the voters they were just asked a question
Its down to the government if they couldn't deliver on the result they shouldn't have asked the question it really is that simple
