I’m heading there today. All this positivity on here is making me giddy, almost sounds like it’ll be worthwhile going! Looking forward to it. Only a shade over an hour up the motorway for me.

Was smaller than I was expecting ( used to go to Newark but not Peterborough) wasn’t just the big boys missing but a lot of the small tool/filter/parts stands weren’t there , even a lot of the coloured cord brigade were missing (not a bad thing), long day to get there and back for us north of the Tyne (21hr day) food was disappointing but always is at places like that, parking/access easy, dry and warm which is a bonus but I do have a good coat of it was outside again

Looking on FB and Twitter last night it appeared that many manufacturers had one or two machines whereas previously they had six to ten? Certainly some have bigger stands at YAMS? Was this the case or just the way the camera lies?

my mate txt me last night "stands must be bl@@dy dear at the NEC, as manufactures have cut back on what was on their stand - agrifac only had two girls not four !

How much of the NEC space was actually used for this? It looked huge on the map but easily covered it in a few hours (less if not stopping to talk to as many) to make it into the premier ah show that people seem to want it needs to be changed into a charged show parking and entry (sensible price tho) to bring stand prices down and if there’s enough room incorporate some livestock as well

Went yesterday and these are my views;
1. The loss of Deere, Claas, MF etc etc is no loss. It makes the whole show far more appealing, you can go on stands where if you farm less than 2000 acres you are welcome - these big stands purely satisfy the larger acre farmers and kids, so to me and thousands of others they are pointless.
2. If you want food go out of the halls, the food in the halls is sh!t and takes forever. Missed the Newark 'food court'!!
3. The stand layout was very frustrating. When we go to shows we like to walk down one aisle and back up the next. This is impossible here as the stands vary so much in size and you end up going in all directions and miss quite a bit. Very frustrating.
4. Being indoors increased the holidaymakers. When it was outdoors, although in the back of beyond in Newark, it was bloody cold and those that were there were keen to be there - far too many students pushing past you with their somewhat chubby lady friends! What has gone wrong with the youth of today??
5. I went to view some smaller equipment bits and pieces, but was very disappointed with the numbers of each type of machine there - for example log splitters; there were a few but only saw one demo!
6. We also wanted to view pickups - there was not one vehicle on display apart from the converted Jimny things and a few sports utility vehicles. Isuzu or Toyota would have cleaned up if they had been there.

Overall was pretty disappointed and those going for two days?? and staying over will more than likely go the autosport show today instead!!

This is 100% correct, but add to this the show is better without all the nonsense that the big boys bring. Nice to see some of the smaller makes on display.

Cost of the stand didn't stop armatrac having the biggest stand in show and possibly the smallest and cheapest line up of kit. The bigger companies are making fools of themselves if they think not attending will a)make people clamour for them and b) not affect their sales.

Do you really think that anyone that is thinking about or going to buy a jd/cnh/mf will change their mind because they weren’t there? I very much doubt it

That’s kind of the point, the big manufacturers weren’t particularly missed and it didn’t take away from the show. Will it affect there sales? Probably not, so why should they bother investing 200k plus for a couple of days at a show that will only impress students!

Not long got home from the show. Enjoyed the show had a 10 minutes or so wait for the shuttle bus after parking. Was a bit disappointed the big tractor makes were missing, especially when the small tractor make Armatrac had a big stand displaying their tractors. If they could afford that stand surely New Holland etc could have afforded a stand. Lots of other interesting stuff there to look at though.

Most car parks you could walk from Hall 17 atrium to your car in any car park in that 10 minutes

From what I heard the Armatrac stand was where Case was going to be, but since they pulled out I can only imagine Armatrac had a good deal on it?
