Right just thinking if it was side mounted could drive along and grab posts out as I goA few years ago I made it so the quad pushed it along, worked quite well,I have seen others side mounted
we have a barrow,it could only be made better by running it over with the quad several times,i think @unlacedgecko did something with an old barrowGot a rappa fencing barrow has anyone managed to join it to run along side the quad

Ah right was wondering if I could somehow join it to run along side the quad maybeThanks for the tag.
I cut it into pieces!
When I upgraded to the ATV system I used the axle of my barrow as a front unwinded.
no,it;s a twitSurely still got to be better then hand reels

Done it like this for years
Hard to see but there is a bar running between quad frame and a tab on the axle of the barrow. Very good for steep ground which is why I made it because the weight is on the ground and I run 800 m on the reels which are heavy.
Negative is bike is a bit away from posts when running by hedges but I have to put one foot on the ground when I pull out posts because I’ve a knackered shoulder and can’t pull them out on the move.
Extra box brilliant for moving everything in one go and room for the dog
Just what I was thinking of does it work well on ruff groundView attachment 793290 View attachment 793292 View attachment 793294

Don't do enough to justify a atv one yet it's on the wish list just thought I'd be able to speed the job up with the barrowWe used to have one that sat in the shed, while I used (non-geared) hand reels in preference.
Get a proper ATV winder, it's an altogether different beast.
Yeh it's just a lot to spend on one when I don't really do enough to justify it and there's a barrow in the shed if you get what I meanJust remember an atv winder will still be worth high % of what you paid for it at the end. Mine was made out of scrap and that’s what it’s worth. The winder wasn’t available when I made mine but I stick with mine because it is quicker to set up, just as quick and better on steep stuff.
If you value you time an atv winder is dirt cheap for the amount of time/energy you will save. It’s the proper job.

Only have to fence grass land at the moment so hopefully the barrow should speed the job up over the old Rutland hand reelsOn smooth grassland, the barrow is infinitely better than hand-held reels.
On rough ground with swedes or other forage crops, an ATV mounted setup is far easier.
