300 suckler cows from two farms in this area heading to Stirling next week. Being replaced by 500 dairy cows on new robot systems. Heard that Grahams dairies had to dump milk last week and now looking to reduce supplier numbers.

Yes but a natural disaster or disease outbreak like f+m can easy put pay to that market
F&M in Brazil and controlled by vaccination, but is already the reason we don’t import into the EU, but makes little difference as red meat is a global trade and plenty of countries still import Brazilian beef and that affects global price. Brazil is only one of 18 countries in SA and plenty we do import from. However, the swine fever outbreak in China will keep global protein prices higher than they otherwise might be - but this is a blip, not the norm.

Good trade in Monmouthire(Raglan) market full new seasons 250 pence and in spec Hoggs up to 230 pence had £88.50 for 41kg hoggs. Deadweight way way behind .
Mine deadweight at Dunbia av 40kg at home came to £85 a head dead so not that far out and no commission to pay. I sell live as well but it can be a gamble which way to go, only needs one buyer to have filled his order or gone for a pee and yours can be ten quid out.

Would that have been 4.50 base? Must have died and graded quite well

[edit] sorry Old Tip, didn’t see your earlier post ref price.. Thanks
