Last year I bought a few bits from a friend who was clearing out his late fathers stuff. This included a compressor which I’ve used most days through the winter. A couple of days ago the lead got pulled out of the plug by an wayward ewe.
I never met the old boy, but I had to smile when I opened up the plug, thinking I was going to refit it:

Sadly, dog burial detail today :bigtears:, he was ancient and had been getting increasingly dotty and deaf, I had forecast that someone would run him over soon. That someone was me and the vet came to put him to sleep this afternoon.

In all his life of 13 plus years he had only had a lead on when he went to the vet for the annual vaccination and had run free for all the rest of the time.

I am sad writing this but the vet says that loads of farm dogs finish up being run over by their owners, is this true?

Sorry to hear that a sad day indeed,

I know of a few that have been run over by their owners by accident, It's not a nice feeling.
Things happen for a reason I guess
Take care And don't feel guilty it was an accident he had a great life.

First of the silage today...but before we started a quick fix job on the trailer (not mine thankfully) I suggested poping to town to buy some chain and shackles but I was laughed out the silage pit..don't need chain when you have twine..I carnt believe it's lasted all day and the other side is the same.

A sympathy like from me too. :(

Easily done I guess, and he’s had a good run of it, but I’m sure you must feel pretty gutted.

There’s two dogs at the place I’m working at currently, they are always running about and one is so laid back it’s a wonder she doesn’t fall over all by herself! I found her lounging under the loadall earlier , I’m petrified of running her over, as she doesn’t seem to get out of the way without a nudge! I try and keep them in their pen when running around with machines.

Chin up and have a better day tomorrow (y)

Very sorry for your loss. It's sad.

I too ran over my 1st collie back in 2001, i was distraught, she was only 6 and a lovely happy thing.
