Maybe not strictly a workshop tool but this arrived last night. I filled it with petrol and oil, primed it and it started on the 3rd pull. Not sure how long it will last but it seems to cut well enough.

I bought this the other day, it is a genuine Honda copy (or is it a copy of a genuine Honda)

its come all the way from China, bouncing around in a shipping container, I put oil , petrol in it & primed it - it started first pull. I was fully expecting the worst given what I paid

its got a fair out put too, I wouldn't want to keep up with it using a bucket !

All I will say is be extremely careful with it, top handles don't handle like big saw, if it kicks back you won't have time to get out the way,,

I got one like that a couple of years ago - it empties IBCs in less time than it takes to get all the pipes in place and hooked up!

Yeh so I have been told. Most Stihl, Husquvarna and Echo dealers wont sell to you unless you have a cert. There's probably a reason for that! I'll be exercising caution, only used it to trim a couple of strainer stays so far, I bought it to use for clearing gorse when fencing.

just done a bit of eBay research - how can they make that and get them here for that price ?

in the name of science & purely for the benefit of other readers I feel a replicated trial coming on (im sure itll come in handy one day)

I have a similar looking one, costed about €90 I think. Only thing was an oilhose coming off and breaking the handle. Both easily rectified. As said, very good starter. I think I've had it for 2 years.

96.4 of my hard earned Scottish pounds got it through the door of my front porch. There are cheaper ones on eBay but I went for this one because it had an Oregon chain and bar included. Also had a look at a review on YouTube which looked favouable. I have been looking at the second-hand mainstream brands on Ebay as well, but most looked well used/abused. Decided to go for the lesser quality but brand new. Will keep you updated when I use it.

You'll wonder how you coped without it Phil.
Been after one for years but never had a job I could really justify it on until now. Got two 6m lengths of 200x10mm plate that I can’t fit on the pillar drill and they need wholes drilling alone the full length! Plus some other awkward holes on the project! It’s an airport job so got plenty of money in it to treat myself:whistle:, got a mag drill, a fortnight in Lanzarote booked and still plenty of profit in it;).
And if this one works out may have orders from other major airports as this will be the only one in the country (y)

Just like to say, that getting a holiday and a mag drill from a single job that is high risk [never done before] is not enough. I hope that it works longer term for you. :)
