I admit, I have a workshop tool addiction :-)

Just like to say, that getting a holiday and a mag drill from a single job that is high risk [never done before] is not enough. I hope that it works longer term for you. :)

That’s the difference between agriculture and other industries, the money is a different league! What ever you’d change for an ag job double it and stick another 0 on the end, they’ll still think it’s cheap at that:eek:

And the best part is they’ve already paid me:ROFLMAO:, got 6-8 weeks for delivery so plenty of time to get it finished(y)

Probably, I actually hate getting paid for a job before it’s finished and signed of by the customer for 1 it detracts from the motivation to do the job and 2 I like to make sure they’re 100% happy with the work.
Just deliver it early and they will want you back and your name will be known around the circuit. Just a caution - don't deliver it early without a good excuse "someone else cancelled I was able to pull the job forward, you were lucky" or you will get LastMinute.com jobs - and those are hateful and don't always go well.
Go @Phil P Go!

I was soooooo tempted to jump at that offer, sadly I feel I need to be counting pennies for later in the year. Give us a review (y)

I bought it on a bit of a whim, I’ve had my eye on the grinder since it came out, and the deal they had on with two 5ah batts and the twin charger just seemed like a good opportunity. If you can wait for the deals then I find it’s a good way of increasing battery numbers, I rarely need to buy batteries individually and only do that when on a reasonable offer.

Not used it yet, but will be sure to give my opinion when I do(y)
Doubt it will see much use in the near future, and will still use the corded tools in the workshop, but this will be super handy in more remote locations I’m sure. I find tools like this don’t need to do much before they become invaluable members of the toolbox.

Put a disk on it and put it in the workshop you will not stop using it so handy not having to think about the lead.

Yes it’s a 9” , I was in the yard earlier, and walking towards the workshop, and thinking about @bigg6480 ’s comment, and also thinking about tools and materials I will need for tomorrow. I suddenly thought of a great use for the new grinder! I’ve got a fair bit of concrete reinforcing mesh to cut up tomorrow, and that job is usually one for a Stihl saw with a diamond blade. This new 9” Makita will, I’m sure, totally replace the Stihl saw for that job, it will be quicker, quieter and will save petrol and the need to start the thing! Be less sparks too I’m betting. So it may be pressed into service sooner than I thought:D
Thanks for setting my mind thinking, @bigg6480 (y)

Have an evolution chop saw as well, must be at least 12 years old now. Just had to put a new tungsten tip cutting disk on it (first one its had) as there’s nothing left to sharpen!
I don’t think you can beat the evolution kit on price for what you get.

I always hear you guys rave about the evolution kit, unfortunately I have an evolution circular saw, that I bought to cut box profile sheet.
Whilst it does this job with ease, and tbh it’s a bit of an animal! Possibly being a bit of an animal has some negatives though? It feckin dangerous really.
But it is hands down the worst built and most cumbersome power tool that I have possibly ever purchased.

Yes it does it’s job, but it doesn’t exactly do it in style. So for me, it’s put me off anything with that name on it in the future.

I have got the dewalt one I don’t think I have used the 9” grinder since we got it. It’s no Stihl saw but it’s a hell of useful tool. I wish the dewalt was more of a grinder than a stihl saw. It’s not so good in small places.

Mines a evolution raptor 380, it’s bloody noisy (ear defenders are essential) but doesn’t half cut box fast!
Need to take a little bit of time making sure it’s setup square and it helps to have something supporting the steel either side to stop it dropping down as you get to the last bit of the cut, otherwise it can bite!

I also have a big reciprocating saw I use for real heavy stuff but that doesn’t get much use these days as the plasma will cut to 16mm and is faster but not as clean.
