Just something I heard in our local mart last week from a farmer from Carmarthen who was bringing lambs there instead of Carmarthen 'just in case'!Is Carmarthen mart closing, had heard a rumour?

Thats the problem when there,s not enough girls to go around. They used to improvise in wales. In a company I used to work for we called it the Christmas fight not party.
I used to work for a building firm, it was the surveyor who got pee'd, made a pass on the receptionist and got into an argument with the boss about how flat Lincolnshire was.Mate of mine with a building company takes his staff out for xmas doo, whacks £500 behind the bar, stays for a couple of pints and leaves them to it as nothing positive can come from pi55ed up builders and the bosses being about.

Last work Xmas party I went to was in 2010. It ended up with 2/3 fights, someone’s wife punched, someone else thinking their arm was broken and an arrest. And 6 months later I had an interview under caution.
Fortunately nothing else came of it.
Why did you fight his wife? Was aiming for the arm effective?? Did you win???Last work Xmas party I went to was in 2010. It ended up with 2/3 fights, someone’s wife punched, someone else thinking their arm was broken and an arrest. And 6 months later I had an interview under caution.

It was a squadron Xmas party in Germany. One of my (female) Sgts brought her husband (Dave) from another regiment. Dave spent the evening telling everyone who would listen how sh!t my regiment and my squadron in particular was.
His mate got into a fight with one of my warrant officers at the bar. During that fight the squadron Sgt Maj's wife got punched in the face.
The Sgt Maj was a lovely man, 5'3" and an army powerlifter. He goes outside to talk with the guy that punched his wife. When I saw him he had the guy up against the wall with a hand around his throat and his toes off the ground.
Dave moves to attack the Sgt Maj from behind. One of my Cpls (Sandy) stops him. Dave floors Sandy then starts putting the boot in.
There's about 30 junior soldiers stood around watching with their eyes on stalks as the seniors scrap. My 2 young troop commanders don't know what to do. I get a hold of Dave, put his arm in rear arm lock and apply a bit of pressure. Then a bit more. That stops him fighting, focuses his mind on what's he doing and de-escalates the situation.
Meanwhile the bar owner has called the police. German civil police (armed) turn up. They quickly see whats happening, realise they're out of their depth and call RMP. RMP arrive and ask what's going on. Dave is stood in the corner wailing and holding his shoulder saying his arm is broken. RMP ask who did it, Dave points at the Sgt Maj and says him. RMP ask no further questions, but arrest the Sgt Maj on the spot and cart him off.
My boss (squadron commander) appears. He looks about, sees the Sgt Maj disappearing in the RMP wagon, Sandy's battered appearance, Dave's tears and says "looks like you've got it all under control Alex" then takes his wife home.
I organise all the junior soldiers transport back to the block. Then get a cab to take the Sgt Maj's wife back to her house. I go to the police station and tell the Sgt Maj his wife is home safe and the junior soldiers are back in the block. My last words to him are "don't speak to any of these red cap fckers without a lawyer".
I get back to my block about 0400 and wake the adjt to tell him what happened. I make a brief written statement and have a quick shave before falling into bed.
0800 the next morning I'm in front of the Commanding Officer swaying slightly as I explain my actions. Dave has made a huge fuss and it's been raised by his CO with accusations of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. The wet fcker had insisted on medical attention.
6 months later I'm trying to live a civvy life and I'm "invited" to attend an interview under caution with the military police. Failure to do so would have led to arrest by UK civil police. Dave is still making a fuss (I guess he was embarrassed by being restrained by an officer).
Fortunately nothing came of it, but the whole thing was an unmitigated shower of sh!t. I had the threat of court martial hanging over me for a fee months.

Cowbridge Mart is, if The Labour Council at Barry have their way?Is Carmarthen mart closing, had heard a rumour?

in the same era as confessions of a farm worker and carry on farming I guessWhat decade was this, you got to tamper with the secretaries, with no hard feelings on Monday!?
Often on building sites, there is a bit of pecking order, machine drivers, managers, engineers and Labourers, put those in room with drink and get arguments and resentment, often site manager won't be mates with groundworkers and drivers as need to stay professional. In a company I used to work for we called it the Christmas fight not party.

The good old days! When smart phones, and social media didn’t exist. Life was far simpler then
