Anyone else have the problem of cows and sometimes the odd heifer, throw calves after a tb test'4-5 weeks after in our case'
We AId for about 8 week pre tb test, test was about a months ago now suddenly loads returning with whites look like early abortion from first hold service, usually absorb the odd one but think have had 7 do it now.

We have had similar findings here, going to pull the Tb test forward significantly next year when I'm not serving so many cows, the hidden/unknown losses involved with tb testing are massive and we aren't even in a hotspot, touch wood

incredible what’s achievable when you live in a country that respects its farmers.

@Blaithin how much would concrete cost over with you guys and what sort of money would milk be?
Looking at around $200 a yard for concrete here then about $6/sq ft for “installation”. Prices probably vary around the country I’m sure.

No clue what the price of milk is.

I don’t know of many farmers that would say that here. A few would flat out dispute it. Agriculture gets the sh!t end of all sticks here just like any other country.

Dairy here is all quota though which has helped it stay ahead of other countries that chose to eliminate the quota system. We import very minimal dairy products, even with the increase of American dairy products last year.

Hi - might I be allowed to please use a photo of the very close up of your cows nose for a website being designed, 'Regenerative food and farming' please. Its a volunteer, community interest company and so no budget to pay I'm afraid. :-/

As long as you put a small attribution that the photo is © Cowabunga underneath in small type [as you see at the bottom of each post of mine]. Carry on for that specific use.
