Agree. Flying trade at Holsworthy today.
Try and get a nice bit of condition on them and push them for 2 weeks and get them in market.
People want a instant return on their purchase and if you spend £2k you don’t want someone else to have had 3500/4000l of milk off them.
And avoid the risk of another tb test.

I've got a bulling heifer (never calved) who's in standing heat.

I'm going to ai her again now regardless but she was standing heat (and served) last Wednesday.

She was given estrumate around the 10th of April as she was 3 months incalf (by accident - had a bull escape for a few days and managed to get 6/20 incalf in that time) and I wanted her incalf to ai (one of my best heifers)

Thoughts on why or what? Shall I offer her to vet at next herd visit (end of month)

probably cystic shot of Overlin with along with the service. I've learnt over the years that PG pregnant hiefers is always a bad idea.

in may is absolute bulls**t.

second pic taken at the most forgiving angle. 279 cows were all huddled on that patch this morning in the pissing rain

Looking for the positives though my zero fossil fuel approach to min till has to score some points with the socks and sandals brigade

Just got ours in now, been on off grazing since Monday. Different situation to @Spudley we are on 1st round still, about 8days to go, not much second round coming back yet, hope for a growing 8 days🤞. However due to the larger covers they have to be grazed pretty tight, but the weather and ground conditions are horrendous. More like late October. We are about 6 miles from Crymych and I know it has rained a lot, up to 60 mm since Monday here. 2024 spring is a challenge.
