Speak for yourself!?Look on the bright side the grass is starting to grow well
and it's not raining anymore
Just made a phone call. The line I'm still getting is that abattoirs are essential, our presence there is essential so get yourself in!Ha what do you think now?
Jack the jobs and stay at home ?Just made a phone call. The line I'm still getting is that abattoirs are essential, our presence there is essential so get yourself in!
Which is all very well. Speaking to my wife (a district nurse) tonight. She says GPs are getting thin on the ground, presumably staying at home as much as possible. Managers in my line have suspended supervisory visits. Meanwhile, my wife continues visiting her patients and I'm expected to mix with 50 hairy-arsed blokes every work day through the peak of the outbreak while our kids are at one of these daycare hubs AKA viral breeding grounds. Meanwhile, every shiny arse in the country is at home on their laptop. Just feels a bit like getting thrown under the bus. I'm getting nervous about it. God help the folk that are really in the line of fire.
Same here. At work on different farms with different people. Loads of walkers, caravanners cyclists yesterday. Decided to look after kids at home.Just made a phone call. The line I'm still getting is that abattoirs are essential, our presence there is essential so get yourself in!

That isn't the case.
No vendors = a closed sale and this is what happens!
No reason vendors could not have been allowed in to see their stock weighed/ sold even if they had to stay on the opposite side of the pen and well away from the buyer's when they were sold and were only allowed in to see their stock sold and then had to leave.
One buyer with a large farm shop that was rammed with people all weekend said he would not buy any lambs off vendors that were inside the market........
Welshpool this morning and most/all vendors were sorting their own stock as normal, seeing them weighed, penned & graded. Presumably if 50% were unsold, plenty would have been there to see that they weren’t sold too cheaply either.
As for buyers taking advantage of vendors not being there, I was told by my dw man, before any markets would have started selling, that lambs were down £30/hd today, and dw would be following them down.
Almost makes the stability of a contract look good.
Just thinking that it is not possible to just announce that we are all shut down from tonight. Local market has 650 to sell tomorrow, many in tonight and over 1500 sheep in tonight.
I presume that as essential workers we will be able to travel but there will only be two buyers allowed at the market.
Governement don't give a sh!t.
All they care about is locking the country down and imprisoning everyone in their homes for the next 18 months +
Look on the bright side if you whinged in China
like you are doing you would have a knock on the
door and escorted to the nearest cell block.
You are uncontrollable manGovernement don't give a sh!t.
