My brother had some good news tonight, he's on a line in local slaughter house, he was fearing the worst with mcds closing, but they emailed him tonight to say theyre looking to up throughput and the kill numbers as demand is good, weather it's good news for farming I'm not sure but I'm just glad he still has a job to go too. My other brother the chef isnt fairing so well

You really don't believe in this coronavirus do you? If you was prime minister how would you go about controlling it?

I believe in it and of course we should all be sensible but its being way over done by the media etc and deaths etc wont be anywhere near as high as they and the governments modelling shows.

Just like swine fever/ CJD etc was the case!

NHS was meant to be under massive strain this week from the virus from the so called computer models.

About 150 odd in hospital from it.

And here they have closed down the cancer wards and sent the doctors etc home on extended leave... ( and they are not self isolating ) as they have nothing to do.

......and he’s off again. Take a deep breath fellas.;)

I have a suspicion that our Devonian correspondent is actually a plant, paid handsomely by @Clive , to generate forum traffic.

That is the current situation.

Not my fault the media are not reporting it like it actually is.

Their scare mongering is what is pushing the government into more and more restrictions.
I've never seen a prime minister do an announcement like boris did tonight but your thinking because eastenders has stopped filming then the BBC need to justify the licence fee somehow ????????

But problem is people are not be sensible you take how many people was out and about yesterday totally stupid so in the end brois has to ground us all for are own safety.

many women spend £40 a week at nail bar , some nearly £100 for hairdo , a leg of lamb would feed a family , priorities and all that
Exactly what I say but in general purchasers dont want to and will not spend that kind of money on a home cooked meal. Spoke to a friend at the weekend who thought her £10 joint of beef was extremely extraordinary (while driving a top end car and nice home etc) I will be interesting to see whether peoples weekly shop will increase or whether the booze side will fill the luxuries of not doing anything at the weekend or having a meal out. Food gaps can be filled with pork snacks and confectionery. Lets not forget a good % of the pop dont want to cook or we could see a massive spike in the readymade meal side. ANyway be interesting to see the trends.

I don't think that will change very much by what he said tonight thou and that is the problem.

Anyone not taking the 2 meter rule etc seriously should be banned for having any medical treatment for the virus or any other illness for 6 months, perhaps that would get them thinking a bit more.

Very few and a lot less than normal flu does in a winter season!

you know corona virus deaths are in addition to all other normal causes of death?

The report also shows that in week 4, 2020, statistically significant excess all-cause mortality by week of death had been seen overall in England.

Exeter Sainsburys tonight would suggest this is already happening.
